Construction Materials Purchaser

We need a dependable professional who can read construction plans, complete material takeoffs, and issue vendor orders accurately and on time . This position is responsible for purchasing materials, coordinating with vendors, and helping ensure each job is supplied correctly and on schedule. Responsibilities Read and interpret residential and/or commercial construction plans Perform material takeoffs from blueprints and specifications Prepare and send purchase orders to vendors and suppliers Request and compare pricing from vendors Track orders, deliveries, and backorders Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors to keep projects moving Verify quantities, pricing, and delivery dates Maintain organized purchasing records and vendor files Help control material costs and avoid ordering errors Qualifications Experience in construction purchasing, estimating, or material procurement Strong ability to read blueprints and specifications Experience completing takeoffs accurately Knowledge of building materials and vendor relationships Strong organizational and communication skills Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple jobs at once Proficient with email, spreadsheets, and purchase order systems Reliable, professional, and able to work well with field and office teams Preferred Experience working for a general contractor, home builder, or construction supplier Knowledge of local vendors and subcontractors Experience with estimating or purchasing software such as JobTread. What We're Looking For The right candidate is someone who is organized, proactive, and confident working from plans. They should be able to turn drawings into accurate material orders and make sure vendors receive clear, timely purchasing information.

Pay:

From $55,000.00 per year
