OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our team at Antonina's Gluten-Free Bakery in Sumner, WA. This role involves overseeing activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory, including ingredients, packaging, and supplies. The Purchasing Assistant works closely with the Purchasing Manager to enhance operational processes, efficiency, and purchasing strategies. Tracks and develops reports to monitor performance metrics such as inventory levels, scheduled deliveries, and supplier performance. Resolves simple issues or errors and escalates larger problems to necessary supervisors.

Core Responsibilities:

Manage and control inventory levels to maximize turns and minimize waste. Oversee the receiving of products, addressing any related issues promptly. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all scheduled tasks. Maintain detailed records of vendor information and inventory files. Perform administrative tasks for the purchasing department, such as running reports, creating spreadsheets, sending emails, and filing. Evaluate supply channels to optimize product value and reduce production costs. Monitor inventory levels and storage conditions of raw materials for manufacturing. Manage inventory of ingredients, packaging, and supplies, including tracking and reporting. Update inventory database with incoming and outgoing products. Maintain safety protocols while using equipment and tools. Ensure accuracy in inventory counts, both digitally and physically. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Management.

Qualifications:

High school diploma Data Collection Data Entry-Keyboarding Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Resource Allocation ERP Systems Previous purchasing experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling in environments with varied temperatures. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
