Perhaps you also have background in plumbing or sprinkler systems? This might be the perfect role for you! Job Summary Monona Plumbing & Fire Protection is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Assistant to support our Plumbing and Sprinkler Service divisions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring technicians have the materials and supplies needed to serve our customers efficiently. This role will initially involve a significant amount of purchase order processing and data entry within our current purchasing system. As we begin implementing new software this year, the position will have the opportunity to help support and grow with a modernized purchasing and inventory process. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in purchasing, inventory management, and operations. Responsibilities Creating and processing purchase orders Ordering materials, parts, and supplies from approved vendors Entering purchasing information accurately into company systems Tracking open orders and following up on delivery status Receiving and verifying shipments Maintaining inventory records and supporting cycle counts Assisting with invoice matching and resolving discrepancies Communicating with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and shipment issues Supporting service billing activities as needed Helping maintain organized purchasing and inventory records What We're Looking For Experience in purchasing, inventory, warehouse operations, administration, accounting support, or a related role Familiarity with plumbing, sprinkler, HVAC, mechanical, construction, or industrial parts and materials (preferred) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfort with repetitive data entry and administrative tasks Basic understanding of invoices, purchase orders, or accounting processes Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook Strong organizational skills and follow-through Excellent attendance and reliability A positive attitude and willingness to learn Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
