Brief Job Description:
The Journeyman Operations Specialist supports the planning, coordination, execution, and sustainment of operational platforms across multiple mission environments. This position is responsible for ensuring platforms operating under Contractor-Owned Contractor-Operated (COCO), Contractor-Owned Government-Operated (COGO), and Government-Owned Contractor-Operated (GOCO) support models are effectively managed and maintained to meet mission requirements. The Operations Specialist serves as a key liaison between operational, logistics, maintenance, and support teams to ensure platform readiness and mission success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate and support platforms under COCO, COGO, and GOCO support models in accordance with approved operational requirements. Coordinate operational activities based on platform ownership, support arrangements, and mission priorities. Monitor and track the status, availability, and readiness of assigned platforms. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting platform employment and mission execution. Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, supply chain, and operational personnel to sustain platform readiness. Maintain accurate operational records, reports, logs, and support documentation. Support mission planning and execution activities across multiple operating environments. Ensure platform operations comply with applicable safety requirements, policies, procedures, and contractual obligations. Assist in developing and implementing operational processes that improve efficiency and mission effectiveness. Provide operational status updates and recommendations to management and stakeholders. Support contingency operations and surge requirements as needed. Participate in meetings, briefings, and planning sessions related to operational support activities. Required Qualifications Active Secret Security Clearance. Minimum of 3 to 10 years of experience supporting operational, logistics, military, aviation, maritime, unmanned systems, or related mission environments. Experience coordinating operations across multiple stakeholders and support organizations. Knowledge of platform readiness, operational planning, and sustainment principles. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and operational tracking systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic operational environments. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing mission requirements. Preferred Qualifications Prior military experience or experience supporting Department of Defense programs. Experience supporting COCO, COGO, and/or GOCO operational environments. Familiarity with logistics, maintenance, supply chain, or readiness reporting systems. Experience supporting deployed, field, or expeditionary operations.
Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting.
