Arete has an immediate opening for a Project Scheduler in the Maritime Airborne Systems Sector. The Project Scheduler will work closely with program managers, technical staff, finance, and others on the team to plan, create, and manage project schedules to enable program decision-making and support delivery of quality products and capabilities to our customer(s). This will include preparation of program plans, risk management, monitoring program execution, reviewing labor and materials costs, operational budgets, and schedules; tracking program deliverables and inventory; and recommending corrective actions such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, funding allocations, and work requirements as necessary. In partnership with the Program Finance team, the Project Scheduler will communicate schedule status and performance to the program team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and must maintain a high level of accuracy. This position is based in our Tucson, AZ office and is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for providing guidance and training to planning / scheduling employees. Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW, and WBS. Creates and tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts. Working knowledge of Planning & Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG), Version 5.0, EVMS Standard (EIA 748-D), Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR), and Integrated Program Management Data and Analysis Report (IPMDAR) strongly desired. Capability to perform Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis, and Schedule Metric Analysis - such as BEI, CPLI, SPI, etc. Experience with subcontractor schedule integration. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Perform regular analysis of program schedules to evaluate program and enterprise wide resource needs through the integration of all program schedules including metrics on schedule status, critical path analysis, schedule variance analysis, network logic validation and program baseline maintenance including support of Earned Value Management performance metrics. Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas. Ensures projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality. Ensures compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines. Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. Provides measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results. Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary. Conducts extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems. Problems span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area. Attend and lead scheduling status reviews and conduct briefings with senior leaders which requires ability to communicate matters of importance to the function or business area. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization. Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Experience working DoD projects in a Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) environment. Active security clearance of the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. Nice to Have (Preferred Skills): Experience working cross-functionally and ability to effectively communicate to accomplish strategic vision of Program Management Excellence Organization (PMEO). Monte Carlos Risk Analysis (Schedule Risk Analysis) Structured Solutions - SSI tools management The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
