Job Description

The Role You are the connective tissue between the kitchen and the floor. As our Expo/Utility, you own the pass — verifying every plate for accuracy, presentation, and timing — while also supporting the kitchen team with prep, cleanliness, and general utility work during service. This is a high-attention, high-energy role for someone who genuinely cares about the details. What You'll Do Run the expo station during service: calling tickets, plating garnishes, and coordinating the flow between the kitchen and front of house Inspect every dish leaving the kitchen for accuracy, temperature, and presentation before it hits the table Communicate clearly with FOH staff on timing, modifications, and special requests Support the kitchen team with prep work, restocking, and mise en place Maintain cleanliness and organization at the pass and throughout the kitchen Assist with dishwashing and utility tasks during and after service as needed Follow all food safety and sanitation standards What We're Looking For Prior kitchen or expo experience preferred — food runner experience in a quality FOH environment will also be considered A sharp eye and strong attention to detail Calm under pressure; able to prioritize and communicate in a fast-moving service environment Team-first attitude with a positive, coachable mindset Reliable, punctual, and professionally accountable Schedule & Compensation Shifts available Friday & Saturday evenings to start Starting pay: $18.50 , plus a share of tip pool Part-time and full-time paths available for the right candidate About Stoa Stoa Wine Bar & Market is Marina del Rey's neighborhood destination for wine and pizza, thoughtfully sourced provisions, and a menu rooted in quality and simplicity. We're a tight-knit team that takes the craft seriously and takes care of each other. We're growing our culinary team and looking for a sharp, self-motivated Expo/Utility player who thrives in the middle of the action.
