Operations Coordinator Big Sur Land Trust | Monterey, CA Full‑Time | Non‑Exempt | On‑site About Big Sur Land Trust Big Sur Land Trust (BSLT) inspires love of land across generations, conserves the unique landscapes of Monterey County, and expands access to outdoor experiences for all. We are a mission‑driven nonprofit dedicated to healthy lands, healthy people, and healthy communities. Position Summary Big Sur Land Trust is seeking a highly organized, collaborative Operations Coordinator to serve as the backbone of our daily administrative and operational functions. This role ensures our office, systems, and internal processes run smoothly so our conservation, stewardship, fundraising, and community programs can thrive. The Operations Coordinator works closely with Finance, IT, HR, Development, and Program staff and plays a key role in maintaining a welcoming, efficient, and mission‑aligned work environment. Key ResponsibilitiesOffice & Facilities Operations Oversee daily office operations to ensure a well‑organized, professional, and welcoming environment Manage office supplies, inventory, vendors, and service providers Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems with attention to confidentiality and compliance Serve as the front‑desk point of contact and provide warm, professional hospitality Financial Administration (AP/AR) Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable, including weekly check runs Track accounts receivable and support timely follow‑up Maintain accurate, audit‑ready financial documentation Serve as a key user of BSLT's spend‑management platform IT & Systems Support Serve as the first point of contact for basic IT and technology troubleshooting Assist with staff onboarding and offboarding related to technology access and equipment Coordinate with IT management on systems, software, and equipment needs Donor & Data Management Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce Support donor acknowledgments, including thank‑you letters and tax receipts Assist the Development team with timely and accurate donor stewardship Staff Support & Administrative Duties Support internal workflows and a positive, inclusive staff culture Assist with scheduling meetings, trainings, and organizational events Respond to email and phone inquiries with professionalism and warmth Perform general administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative, operations, or office management experience Accounts payable experience strongly preferred General understanding of accounting principles Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred Experience using financial or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MIP, or similar) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including strong Excel skills Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic environment Physical & Work Requirements Regular computer use and reading technical information Ability to work in a busy office environment Sitting or standing for extended periods Occasional lifting of items up to 40 pounds Ability to attend outdoor or community events as needed Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $23.00-$28.00, DOE Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage Life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and HSA contributions 40 hours of paid sick leave annually Paid holidays and vacation Professional development and learning opportunities How to Apply Please submit the following to employment@bigsurlandtrust.org : Resume Cover letter addressing your qualifications and availability Position is open until filled.
