Job Description
Expeditor - Production Planning Support Position Summary The Expeditor will support the Production Planning and Production teams by ensuring timely movement of materials, parts, and outside processing to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements. This role is responsible for tracking shortages, expediting critical components, coordinating with internal departments, and driving closure on material constraints impacting production. Key Responsibilities Monitor production schedules and identify material shortages or schedule risks. Expedite raw materials, components, and outside processing to support on-time production. Coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality, and Receiving to resolve material issues. Follow up with suppliers on late deliveries and provide recovery plans as needed. Support planners with shortage management and daily production priorities. Update ERP system with accurate delivery dates, status notes, and expedite actions. Assist in maintaining material flow between departments and outside vendors. Participate in daily production and scheduling meetings. Generate reports related to shortages, past due orders, and critical parts. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, planning, scheduling, or expediting. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred. ERP/MRP system experience required (Epicor experience preferred). Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills. Preferred Skills Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience preferred. Understanding of production planning, material control, and supply chain processes. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
