Department Planning Location Default Salary $36.20/hour-$45.25/hour Open Date 05/05/2026 Description Who we are: The City of Woodland Park—proudly known as "The City Above the Clouds" —is a welcoming mountain community located at 8,481 feet and surrounded by the one ‑ million ‑ acre Pike National Forest. Woodland Park offers a small ‑ community setting with direct access to outdoor recreation, including nearby trails, fishing areas, and year ‑ round activities. The City is committed to providing dependable public services, supporting responsible growth, and maintaining the unique character that defines this mountain community. Job Summary:
This position performs a variety of administrative, technical and professional duties related to current land use planning, zoning and building activities. In addition, this position performs a variety of work assignments involving research, data assimilation, code amendments, development analysis, mapping, graphics, documentation, and recordkeeping.
Qualifications/Education Requirements:
1. Graduation with a Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in land-use planning, urban planning, architecture or a closely related field. 2. Experience related to planning, zoning, land use regulations, public administration, or closely related field is beneficial. 3. Valid Colorado Driver license.
Upcoming Projects:
Upcoming planning projects include topic specific updates to the recently adopted Unified Development Code (e.g., landscaping standards, architectural design guidelines, parking standards, and possible 'dark-sky' lighting standards) and we will soon begin a sub-area plan for the downtown area.
