Position Information Position Title Summer Network Operations Assistant Department Networking & Servers -Group Pay Type Non Exempt Appointment Type (A) Term Hours Per Week 35 Number of weeks Other (Benefits Ineligible) other - # of weeks 13 Benefits Eligible No Benefits Geographical Regional Qualifies for Relocation Reimbursement No Work Schedule Job Description General Scope of Duties Under the direction of the Assistant Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, and installation of the college's wired and wireless infrastructure. The position will work with team members to help maintain network infrastructure, firewalls and VPN. General Duties and Responsibilities The Position will assist with several responsibilities, including but not limited to: Assist engineers with installation of routers, switches, wireless APs. Work with engineers in basic troubleshooting of data networking issues. Participate in change controls related to data network. Create network documentation. Participate in project meetings and help gather business requirements. Work with vendors on open trouble tickets to resolve production issues. Assist with ongoing network operations audits. Design and implement small branch office LAN/WAN. Education and Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience:
Student currently enrolled in a Computer science, Networking or Information Systems degree program. Excellent computer skills specifically with Google Apps Excellent organization and time management skills with attention to detail Self-starter with the ability to synthesize ambiguous information Strong verbal/written communication skills Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Driving Required No Salary Range $16.94 Note Connecticut College is committed to fair and competitive compensation.
