Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to-day operations of the School Nutrition Program at the local school level to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, laws and regulations and Board policies and procedures. This would include the areas of SNP employee hiring and training; food safety and sanitation; food production and equipment, technology; program operations; compliance and accountability, and management and leadership development. Supervise and manage the SNP recruitment, screening, training, and hiring and placement of new employees. Monitor SNP staff to schedule screenings and complete fingerprinting and background checks.

Schedule Orientation for New Employees (O.N.E.) training class based on staffing needs and number of available applicants.

Monitor the organization and implementation of new employee training presentations including O.N.E. and application workshops.

Assist with training assessment, review, and evaluation processes for the department.

Review O.N.E. training sites, trainers, trainees, and provide feedback on classes as needed.

Maintain and supervise staffing allotments in accordance with established staffing guidelines.

Assist local school Administrators and HR Staffing Directors on staffing issues, discipline issues, employee transfers, and return to work issues. Coordinate the training and development of SNP personnel; develop and review SNP training materials and curriculum as needed. Provide training for all SNP employees.

Oversee the Associate Manager and Assistant Manager training program; supervise and evaluate trainees.

Assist in the development and teaching of SNP courses such as O.N.E., Training-In-Depth (TID) courses, Manager-In-Training (MIT) courses, and other development courses as needed.

Assess and identify O.N.E. training sites and IDEA Centers.

Assure alignment of the TID and MIT courses with state curriculum.

Supervise the maintenance of SNP employee training records. Develop and implement effective instructional practices and develop effective professional development for staff. Evaluate and select appropriate resources, textbooks, and software.

Identify training instructors and assess activities to facilitate instruction.

Evaluate and identify the best instructional practices and training programs to achieve the stated mission.

Provide and maintain resources to support training staff.

Develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated model of professional development for all SNP staff.

Provide support to SNP managers in the development and delivery of professional development opportunities. Provide extended training support and assistance to School Nutrition Managers, Principals, and Assistant Principals. Address needs pertaining to additional and specific training and professional development of SNP staff.

Assist Principals and HR Staffing Directors in identifying and providing training support as needed. Assist in the SNP procurement process as needed. Prepare, review and evaluate SNP solicitations as needed. Provide supervision and direction to ensure local school food service operation compliance with GaDOE/USDA regulations. Monitor adherence of nutrition programs to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Oversee program reviews, inventory audits, and develop changes for improvements and adherence to regulations.

Provide direction to ensure program compliance.

Assist in preparation of GaDOE/USDA reviews and site visits.

Ensure all reporting to GaDOE and GCPS is accurate and completed in a timely manner.

Address issues pertaining to weekly/monthly/yearly reporting including, but not limited to, claims, inventory, cash handling, administrative reviews, invoicing, and accounts payable/receivable. Provide assistance and support to the operation of local School Nutrition Programs as assigned. Supervise and evaluate School Nutrition Operations Specialist and provide support with the organization, supervision, compliance, and training of local School Nutrition Programs.

Develop evaluations and reports for analyzing problems and creating and presenting solutions. Assist in the preparation and evaluation of bids for large equipment, shoes and uniforms. Manage the process for ordering large equipment, shoes and uniforms Maintain health inspection scores and enter scores on the GaDOE portal.

Maintain list of SNP Managers and SNP Assistant Managers.
