Job Description

As a Scheduler, you will play a key role in coordinating patient appointments and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for patients and providers. You will serve as a central point of communication, supporting scheduling, patient inquiries, and overall clinic workflow. In this role, you will: Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments efficiently and accurately. Coordinate referral appointments and assist patients with scheduling needs. Verify and collect patient demographic and insurance information for accurate EMR setup. Provide clear instructions to patients to prepare them for exams, procedures, and visits. Answer patient questions regarding basic medical tests and procedures. Maintain strong knowledge of provider schedules, visit types, durations, and preferences. Manage appointment work queues, reschedule lists, waitlists, and missed appointment follow-ups. Monitor and respond to appointment requests through patient portals. Answer phone calls professionally, including placing calls on hold, transferring, and taking detailed messages. Communicate schedule changes and updates effectively to providers and staff. Prioritize patient needs, responding calmly and appropriately to urgent or complex situations. Build positive relationships with patients, staff, and the community to promote a high-quality experience. Work both independently and collaboratively to support clinic operations. Perform all other duties as assigned.
