Mid‑Iowa Cooperative and Mid‑Iowa Milling serve our communities through seventeen grain facilities and seven feed mill locations, offering diverse career opportunities across our operations. Positions include grain settlement coordinators, grain originators, crop insurance and brokerage support, regional managers overseeing grain operations, accounting, and IT, as well as feed mill operators, assistants, delivery drivers, and CDL truck drivers. Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities are to prepare, process, load, distribute & mix feed products in an accurate & timely manner. While manufacturing quality feed, ensure all processes and company policies are followed using Mid-Iowa Milling and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping on equipment as assigned. Ability to communicate and work with others to accomplish tasks assigned. Housekeeping duties as assigned. Assist in bag feed production as assigned Proper recordkeeping of drug books and gathering of hand add ingredients. Sample all ingredient trucks and properly complete necessary documentation. Report, clean up and properly dispose of feed spills. Follow processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Mid Iowa Milling and regulatory requirements (OSHA, HACCP, GMP, FSMA, etc.). Responsible for mill equipment and report damage or malfunctions. Grinding and Batching and computer systems that coordinate. Perform loadout functions such as manually loading trucks, alarms, and queuing up loads. Be able to work weekends as needed. Assist the grain department as needed. Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance. Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical work experience in office and mill operations, administration, or a similar role. Proven ability to lead teams, manage staff performance, and communicate effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and clients. Strong project management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to improve processes and ensure efficient office operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office systems, with experience in budgeting, vendor management, and general administrative processes.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Works in both a professional office environment and an AG (autogenous) mill or plant setting, requiring regular presence in production areas; may require occasional extended hours to meet deadlines. Requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and frequent use of standard office equipment.
  • May involve light physical activity such as standing, walking, and occasionally lifting office supplies (typically up to 70 lbs.).
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures in mill areas; required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots. Must be able to move safely throughout production areas, including stairs and uneven surfaces, while managing a fast-paced workload with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
