Job purpose The production scheduler works with Sales and Plant Managers, andis responsible for planning, managing forecast, and establishing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's production capacity as well as managing inventory levels. Duties and responsibilities Develop production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity. Monitor the production schedule and anticipate possible changes as needed for when equipment fails and or resources do not arrive as planned. Monitor inventory levels to ensure products are available. Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system. Create, plan, monitor, and manages production schedules daily and throughout the month to meet customer on-time delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity. Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements. Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order reviews. Answer termination or cancellation requests from sales. Assist in tracking finished goods and track work in process (WIP) material sweeps from production floor. Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report. Releases purchase orders for production material to support the business unit. Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department, and supervisors on material status and production planning issues. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Associates degree with 2-3 years' experience in production control, planning, inventory and materials. Some experience with multisite and logistic planning desired. Excellent customer service skills and an ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
Basic computer skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office products, Advance knowledge of Excel. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Effective troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Mechanically inclined Working conditions This job operates in a production office environment, including offices, warehouse, and storerooms. Maybe exposed to elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in posted areas of the plant, including safety glasses, ear plugs, high visibility safety vest, and safety metatarsal shoes. Able to pull/lift up to 50 lbs. Direct reports None We offer...
