Production Planner/Scheduler

Production Planner / Scheduler The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting daily production schedules to meet customer demand, maximize machine efficiency, and support inventory goals. This role requires frequent time on the production floor to communicate directly with machine operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate scheduling and smooth production flow. Requirements of the Production Planner / Scheduler Prior production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of production flow, machine capacity, and scheduling priorities Ability to spend 30-40% of the day on the production floor coordinating directly with operators and leadership Experience using ERP systems and Excel to extract data, build schedules, and track changes Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production, supervision, and maintenance teams Understanding of inventory control, product shelf life, and minimizing waste or obsolete materials Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus Responsibilities of the Production Planner / Scheduler Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and machine availability Monitor and adjust schedules throughout the day to address production changes, downtime, and shifting priorities Walk the production floor regularly to communicate directly with machine operators and confirm production needs and machine assignments Partner closely with supervisors and maintenance teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve operational efficiency Analyze production capacity and ensure schedules are realistic and achievable Generate reports from ERP systems and Excel to track scheduling accuracy, inventory levels, and key performance indicators Support inventory management efforts by balancing product availability, shelf-life considerations, and waste reduction Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment 1st shift, DIRECT HIRE Pay is $80,000 - $90,0000 annually, based on experience If you have an open application with Matthews Professional Employment, Inc., please express your interest in this position to your consultant Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used in some portions of the candidate review process for this position, however, all employment decisions will be made by a person. #MPE4
