The Scheduling & Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for scheduling direct care staff and overseeing education, skills competencies, trainings, clinical observations, and other duties as assigned by the Clinical Nurse Leader or designated facility staff. This role also assists with new employee hiring, on-boarding, and orientation, as well as tracking licenses, certifications, and in-service education.
QMA Scheduler Responsibilities:
Completes, posts, and edits the nursing department schedule in the designated scheduling program and works with the Director of Nursing to ensure coverage for open shifts. Assists in screening, interviewing, and hiring through the Applicant Tracking System. Collaborates with Human Resources to deliver the general orientation program for new employees. Oversees education, testing, and certification for Home Health Aides. Conducts monthly in-services and new procedure/skills training as directed by the Director of Nursing, alternating times to accommodate all shifts. Assists the Director of Nursing in preparing for facility surveys by educating staff on conduct and disclosure, maintaining a presence during surveyor visits, and managing the timely collection of required information. Maintains comprehensive records of course offerings, attendance, objectives, content outlines, and individual learning evaluations. Pulls reports and course completions in Relias for department leaders. Tracks in-service requirements for direct care staff in compliance with state and federal regulations. Tracks dementia training for all staff and new hires. Tracks CPR certification for all staff and new hires. Works on the floor as a QMA two days a week.
