YOUR DAY AS A MEDICAL OFFICE SCHEDULER
As a Medical Office Scheduler at The Emerge Center, Foundation, and School for Autism, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of essential tasks aimed at ensuring smooth operations in our medical office. You can expect to greet families warmly, assist with scheduling appointments, and maintain organized patient records. Daily communication with healthcare providers and families will be crucial, so be prepared to answer inquiries and guide parents through the scheduling process. Attention to detail will be vital as you handle sensitive information and confirm appointments. Your expected schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
ARE YOU THE MEDICAL OFFICE SCHEDULER WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
To thrive as a Medical Office Scheduler at The Emerge Center, Foundation, and School for Autism, several essential skills are necessary. Proficiency in scheduling coordination is crucial; you will need to efficiently schedule patient evaluations and maintain provider calendars to minimize conflicts. Clear, professional communication with patients and caregivers is imperative when discussing appointment details and rescheduling as needed. Experience with insurance verification and documentation will be beneficial, as you will verify coverage and document eligibility, co-pays, and referrals, ensuring families understand their financial responsibilities. Mastery of digital patient record management using Medtron will help create and maintain new patient charts accurately, streamlining the intake process. Additionally, strong organizational and multitasking skills are important for providing administrative support, collaborating with both clinical and administrative departments, and assisting with communication tasks as assigned. These skills will ensure an efficient, professional, and supportive environment for both patients and providers. The duties and resposibilities for the position are: 1. Scheduling Coordination Schedule patient evaluations and re-evaluations for SLP, OT, ABA, Audiology and Behavioral Health providers. Maintain provider calendars, ensuring optimal utilization and minimal scheduling conflicts. Communicate appointment details with patients and caregivers in a clear and professional manner. Reschedule appointments as needed, documenting changes accurately. 2. Insurance VerificationDocumentation Verify insurance coverage and benefits for all incoming patients prior to services. Collaborate closely with the Medical Office Specialist by providing accurate and timely scheduling information and support insurance benefit verification and authorization processes. 3. AdministrativeDepartmental Support Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to support daily workflows. Assist with follow-up calls, faxes, emails, and other correspondence related to patient scheduling or intake. Support special projects and other departmental tasks as assigned by leadership. Other job duties as assigned.
