Call Center/Medical Scheduler

Job Summary:

Dynamic physician practice looking for an energetic, charismatic, customer service focused individual to schedule appointments and play a vital role in patient care interaction. This individual is the primary point of contact for patients and must be able to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Schedule appointments in electronic management software. Schedule patient referrals in a timely manner. Enter patient information into Electronic Medical Record. Answer multiline phone system in a courteous manner. Verify patient insurance benefits. Maintain referral source appointments with feedback communication.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Medical insurance knowledge preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a commitment for success. Knowledgeable of medical terminology and general medical practice operations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Basic office skills such as typing and operating phones.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of experience working in a medical office required. At least 1 year of scheduling experience in a medical office desired.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
