Job Description
The Planning and Scheduling Coordinator will ensure that Equipment Yards and Services materials and tools are maintained in an efficient, effective, secure, and safe manner. The Planning and Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and measuring actual work results against acceptable operating standards and inspecting receipts of all materials to ensure product standards and quality assurance are upheld. Ensure the safety of passengers and employees through the enforcement of Authority standards and policies Provide professional and courteous customer service through face-to-face interaction with customers or via telephone or written correspondence as needed. Confer and coordinate with vendors the return and/or replacement of materials that do not meet MBTA technical specifications, and initiate, monitor, and maintain the requisitions, invoices, and technical specifications for all inventory and non-inventory procurements. Initiate and prepare analytical and statistical information. Maintain files to support supervisory personnel in the area and respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority's "Driven by Customer Service" quality standard. Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and/or transport crews or equipment as needed. Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner. Available to work as per assignment by the MBTA twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as directed by supervisory staff for severe weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service. Have the ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations assigned or directed. Performs related duties and projects as assigned. Supervision No direct reports. A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution. Four (4) years' experience in track maintenance and construction on rapid transit and surface lines. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, or database applications. Have the ability to work with a diverse workforce. A valid driver's license in accordance with MBTA policy. Successful applicants must have the English language skills required for the effective performance of the position. None Preferred Experience and Skills Additional years of experience in track maintenance and or construction. Experience in planning and scheduling track maintenance activities. Experience in the railroad industry, real estate, or legal contracts may be substituted for the degree requirement.
