GED Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Mohs Scheduler plays a pivotal role in supporting Mohs Surgeons by overseeing administrative tasks essential to patient scheduling, communication, and follow-up care. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of patient care.
Essential Functions :
To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations: Conduct post-operative follow-up calls to assess patient recovery, addressing concerns such as pain, bleeding, or bandage-related issues. Coordinate and confirm surgical appointments, maintaining a surgical cancellation list for efficient scheduling adjustments. Organize and maintain accurate surgical paper charts (Mohs maps) on a weekly basis, ensuring all preparations are completed prior to surgeries. Prepare comprehensive documentation for surgical phone consultations and coordinate related communications. Monitor patients on anticoagulants, such as Coumadin, to ensure appropriate INR levels are maintained for surgical safety. Oversee the management of tasks within the Electronic Medical Assistant (EMA) system to streamline workflow. Serve as the liaison for intra-team communications, coordinating patient calls and scheduling within the Mohs department. Communicate with plastic surgeons regarding patient scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed. Maintain the Pathology Log, ensuring accurate documentation of follow-up actions, treatment plans, and prescription entries. Keep culture logs up to date in compliance with established protocols. Respond to voicemail messages for the Mohs department promptly and professionally.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is preferred. A minimum of one year of administrative experience in a medical setting is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly EMA, is highly preferred. This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.
