The Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in driving productivity, quality, safety, and engagement within a manufacturing environment. This position partners closely with frontline employees, team leads, and supervisors to improve performance, reinforce standard work, and promote a positive, accountable culture on the production floor. This is a hands-on, floor-based role focused on supervising daily operations, coaching employee performance, and ensuring production goals are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Team Supervision Supervise hourly employees to ensure productivity, quality, safety, attendance, and work habits meet expectations. Monitor daily production activities and ensure adherence to production schedules. Reinforce performance expectations and standard operating procedures. Observe work behaviors and provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback. Address performance concerns and support employees in overcoming performance barriers. Leadership & Employee Development Partner with team leads and management to drive employee performance and accountability. Model effective leadership and coaching techniques. Support performance improvement plans and follow-up actions. Assist with onboarding and development of new employees. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment. Safety & Quality Reinforce safe work behaviors and compliance with safety procedures. Promote accountability for quality standards and defect reduction. Encourage reporting of issues, near misses, and improvement opportunities. Ensure employees follow GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements. Operations Support Monitor production metrics and support efforts to achieve operational goals. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs. Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to ensure smooth operations and employee engagement. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment. Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods. Preferred Experience in performance improvement, operations support, workforce coaching, or supervisory roles. Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs and production metrics. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience. Bilingual (based on workforce needs). Skills & Competencies Leadership and employee development. Performance management and coaching.
