This in-person, office hourly position at our facility in Comstock Park, MI requires a person who is very detailed and task oriented. We are looking for the right individual who will embrace our core values and have a positive and willing / "can do" attitude.
Job Details:
Responsible for reviewing all orders for accuracy and completeness before releasing for production Identify labor routings, apply estimates, and enter orders in scheduling software Organize and forward shop packets to coincide with production requirements Attend, Plan, and/or conduct Detailed Drawing review meetings Attend daily production meetings with Production Control Manager & Plant Manager Identify and correct procedural errors within the order process Enter estimated hours into our database for performance analysis Responsible for identifying, organizing and preparing documents for billing Create new labor routings by doing necessary research on new processes Learn technical details related to how signs are constructed Read and understand shop drawings Update and maintain the repetitive stock code database Attend collaborative meetings with other departments Tracking progress against the schedule to identify potential plant capacity constraints or bottlenecks Assist in monitoring and updating the Install schedule Navigating unforeseen issues like machine breakdowns or material shortages by reallocating resources and updating the plan as needed Locate and update shop drawings after they have been released Back up the Production Control Manager as needed Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and some relative experience in scheduling Intermediate to advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or APS experience preferred Ability to understand how to read quotes, estimates, and drawings / blueprints Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees Ability to identify and analyze challenges and constraints and help develop creative solutions Comfortable with spending time in a shop environment regularly
