  • Full-time With multiple offices in Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties, we are seeking a full-time Surgical Scheduler to join our Team!
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to schedule surgeries/procedures between our physicians, our patients, and local hospitals. This employee must be driven, poised, articulate, and possess the strongest of communication skills. MEDICAL SURGICAL SCHEDULER
As a Surgical Scheduler, you are directly involved in ensuring that we deliver patient-focused care at all times. We are looking for someone who learns quickly, is capable of working independently, and has a positive attitude. You will also need excellent communication skills with an outstanding professional and personal presentation consistent with our brand.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient and accurate processing of information for procedures in the operating room Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage Responsible for verifying patients' insurance coverage, accurately calculating patient financial responsibility, and notifying patients of payment due at time of service, prior to scheduled procedure Boards patients for surgery at out of office facilities Able to communicate and coordinate large groups of people for surgery (Managers, Physicians, Audiologists and Medical Assistants
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience required (Surgery Scheduling Experience Preferred) Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand Show a genuine desire to work and improve the practice as a whole Strong insurance background Strong medical terminology Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills Minimum of high school diploma
QUALIFICATIONS
Medical experience, preferred Boarding experience, preferred Ability to work with computers and data entry Thorough understanding of insurance concepts, including deductibles, co-pays, co
  • insurance, and out of pocket maximums Basic understanding of medical terminology and processes; including HIPAA regulations, insurance registration, etc.
Must be patient-focused Must be a team player, as well as capable of working independently Able to work in a high-volume practice Self-motivated with ability to take direction well and multi-task
