The Role The Operations Coordinator (OC) will report directly to the Director of Operations and play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Veterans Community Projects (VCP). The OC will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of VCP properties, as well as actively engaging with the community through events, speaking engagements, and volunteer coordination. Additionally, the OC will collaborate with the Construction Lead and volunteers during build cycles to support project completion (If applicable).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Task Force members to prioritize and schedule timely completion of house flips, housing maintenance requests, and general work orders, ensuring operational efficiency. Identify requirements for professional trades in work orders and coordinate scheduling with tradespeople. Maintain operational standards across all VCP properties to effectively meet all needs. Liaise with vendors to ensure quality control and billing standards, promptly reporting any issues to the Executive Director. Work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator to secure volunteer support when necessary. Schedule routine maintenance for VCP equipment, including mowers, vehicles, and ATVs. Build and maintain relationships with potential volunteer sources like youth groups, churches, schools, and corporations. Lead volunteer groups as directed, overseeing task completion and adherence to directives. Effectively communicate the mission and story of VCP.
Competencies and Areas of Expertise:
Proficiency in general construction practices. Familiarity with technology and CRM management software programs, including Microsoft Office 365. Ability to execute mid-level operations effectively. Working knowledge of tools and common appliances. Preference given for HVAC / Electrical certifications. Capability to lead projects and delegate tasks to volunteers and staff as directed. Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Willingness to work overtime as necessary. Flexibility in scheduling. High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an insurable driving record, and be able to operate an agency vehicle as required by the position.
