Registered Nurse, Surgical Scheduler Keesler AFB, MS From $1 an hour - Full-time From $1 an hour - Full-time
IMMEDIATE OPENING
for a Full-time Registered Nurse, Surgical Scheduler to support the Keesler Air Force Base, located in MS.
Qualifications:
Education :
Shall be a graduate from a baccalaureate degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
Licensure/Certification/Registration :
Possess a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Experience :
Minimum of 3 years' experience within the last 5 years Specific Duties and Tasks include but not limited to: Serves as the Nurse Clinical Systems Manager for applicable computerized surgical information management system database. Oversees the operational efficiency, utilization, and data integrity of computerized surgical information management systems, with a focus on improving surgical suite management and patient care delivery Manages the computerized surgical information system database, including Power Chart, Report Builder, Preference Card Maintenance, and Discern Reporting Portal Analyzes System performance, identifies areas for improvement, and ensures functional capabilities align with clinical needs. Builds and maintains perioperative files and tables while coordinating system updates and modifications with informatics and IT staff. Computes daily OR census, collects and validates statistical data, and prepares comprehensive reports with trends, forecasts, and variances analysis. Develops comparative statistical studies to monitor trends and assess performance. Serves as a key liaison between surgery and nursing staff, technical support personnel, and information management teams. Facilitates improvements to systems for enhanced efficiency in surgical suite utilization and patient care. Coordinates system-related functional training for clinical staff. Organizes and assembles surgical scheduling requests, optimizing room assignments for maximum utilization. Maintains a detailed database of surgical procedures, participants, and outcomes to ensure data accuracy and completion of medical records. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and readiness for surveys and inspections (e.g., The Joint Commission, DoD, Inspector General). Supports system-related tasks for the departmental Quality Improvement Plan and ensures compliance with all applicable standards. Works with surgical scheduling community to recommend and implement system improvements.
