Full-time Job Summary:
Kats Wine & Spirits is seeking an energetic Lead Operations Specialist to procure new and exciting items, leverage those items in merchandising and marketing efforts, and drive sales growth by empowering our sales team to deliver exceptional customer service. In this role, you will ensure procured items are properly received, placed, tracked, and reordered. The ideal candidate is passionate, meticulous, a good teacher, and exceptional at sustaining Kats Wine & Spirits' positive team culture.
All applicants and employees must:
Pass state (Mississippi) and federal (FBI) background checks for MS Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) licensing Pass drug screenings Pass motor vehicle review with a favorable driving record and no DUIs Have an associate's degree or highly favorable work history Present a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance Be at least 21 Importantly, persons with shortfalls in any of the above requirements should not apply. Applications for state and federal background checks and ABC approval cannot be submitted unless candidates meet all of these criteria.
Duties & Skills:
Must be highly organized, meticulous, and excel in communication, mentorship, and fostering a positive team culture. Lead store activities and assign tasks to promote smooth operations and excellent customer service. Perform ongoing wine and spirits research, new product procurement, attractive merchandising, and social-media marketing to promote sales growth. Manage inventory levels by ensuring sales are made and posted in the POS with accuracy and through effective stock control to minimize shrinkage. Make properly timed reorders to ensure adequate but not excessive stock. Assist with scheduling to ensure adequate but not excessive staffing. Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees, fostering a positive team environment through employee orientation and training. Ability to handle customer service issues professionally with etiquette and conflict resolution skills. Ability to design shelf-talkers with Microsoft Publisher or similar and social media skills. Have the ability to handle 40-pound cases, including up and down ladders. Pay begins at a $13 training rate, escalating toward $17
  • 18 as skills are acquired, plus substantial overtime at time and a half.
