Job Description

Job Summary:
The scheduler is expected to have the scheduling department open and operating each day. The scheduling department will schedule all procedures for all ERI locations and departments

Friday Hours:
9am-5pm
Major Job Functions:
Professionally schedules patients for procedures through referring physician's offices. Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and scheduling appointment. Securing accurate and up to date patient information including demographic, insurance information. Schedule, coordinate, cancel and reschedule appointments when equipment breaks down or various other issues come up (i.e. inclement weather, staff shortage) Schedules routine mammograms with patients. Gathers general information pertaining to the patient for entry into the scheduling system. Coordinates scheduling with ERI clinical staff. Makes physician's offices and/or patients aware of any preparations that the patient may need to have prior to the procedures.

Education :
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience :
Minimum of 1 year customer service or equivalent preferred.

Must have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent phone etiquette. Must possess the ability to work alone. Must be discrete with all confidential information.
Physical Demands :
Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to handle mail loads.
Working Conditions :
Works in a clean spacious, well lighted medical facility office. Sits, stands and walks intermittently throughout the day. Must stoop and bend in the course of job performance. Other (Operational Excellence): Employee must be aware of and fully support all practice policies and procedures. Must have demonstrated ability to deliver services to physicians, patients and fellow employees with compassion and in a responsive, courteous and concerned manner.
