Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Coordinator / Freight Coordinator to join our growing transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating freight movements, sourcing transportation capacity, negotiating rates with carriers, and ensuring exceptional service for customers. This position requires strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced logistics environment. Experience working with carriers, load boards, freight brokerage operations, and Over-the-Road (OTR) transportation is highly preferred. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both brokerage operations and our private fleet by identifying freight opportunities, securing transportation capacity, and maximizing equipment utilization for long-haul routes. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage daily freight movements to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to secure reliable transportation capacity. Utilize load boards such as DAT , Truckstop , and other transportation platforms to source carriers and cover customer freight. Source and secure freight opportunities for the company's private fleet , with a focus on OTR (Over-the-Road) long-haul freight . Identify backhaul opportunities and optimize fleet utilization to minimize empty miles. Negotiate freight rates with carriers and customers while maximizing profitability and maintaining service standards. Build and maintain a network of qualified carriers and transportation partners. Monitor market trends, transportation rates, and capacity conditions. Track shipments and proactively communicate updates to customers, drivers, and carriers. Resolve service issues and transportation challenges in a timely and professional manner. Support business growth by identifying opportunities to expand carrier relationships and improve service levels. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, dispatching, carrier sales, transportation coordination, or a related field preferred. Experience sourcing carriers and successfully covering loads. Experience finding and booking freight for trucks operating in OTR environments. Experience negotiating freight rates and managing transportation costs. Familiarity with load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, or similar transportation platforms. Understanding of freight brokerage operations, transportation regulations, and market dynamics. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
