HELP WANTED - HARDWARE, EQUIPMENT & OUTDOOR DEPARTMENTS
Full-Time Retail Operations Specialist - Northern Minnesota A growing, community-focused retail business in Northern Minnesota is seeking a highly motivated, versatile team member to join our operation. This is not a position where you work in just one department. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is willing to assist throughout the store wherever needed. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in hardware, equipment rental, sporting goods, bait & tackle, outdoor recreation, general maintenance, and customer service. Primary Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service throughout the store Assist customers with hardware, tools, building materials, rental equipment, sporting goods, fishing supplies, and outdoor products Support all store departments as business needs require Coordinate equipment rental transactions, inspections, customer education, and returns Clean, inspect, fuel, organize, and maintain rental equipment to ensure it is safe, operational, and professionally presented at all times Perform basic troubleshooting of rental equipment and identify maintenance concerns before equipment is rented Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and maintain department presentation standards Receive deliveries, unload freight, and assist with inventory management Operate point-of-sale systems and process customer transactions accurately Assist with seasonal displays, promotions, and special projects Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment both inside and outside the facility Help customers load merchandise and rental equipment when necessary Work as a team player and assist wherever needed throughout the business Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in hardware stores, equipment rental, farm supply, construction, sporting goods, outdoor recreation, automotive, landscaping, maintenance, or retail operations Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, hardware products, and building materials Familiarity with fishing equipment, bait, hunting, camping, and outdoor recreation products Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment General handyman skills and understanding of common repairs, maintenance tasks, and equipment operation Ability to learn new products and technical information quickly Strong customer service and communication skills Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Full-time, year-round employment Opportunity for advancement and increased responsibilities Employee discounts Stable employment with a growing company Friendly, team-oriented work environment Opportunity to work with customers ranging from homeowners and contractors to anglers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts Schedule Full-Time Position Weekend and holiday availability required Additional hours available during peak seasons How to Apply Please reply to this ad with: Your resume (if available) A brief summary of your work experience Your availability Contact phone number Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, is mechanically inclined, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, can solve problems independently, and takes pride in keeping equipment, departments, and displays clean, organized, and customer-ready.
