Operations Assistant Heart-n-Soul Community Cafe Fargo, ND Job Details Part-time | Full-time Up to $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Food handling Food hygiene Driver's License Meal preparation Cleaning Food preparation Full Job Description Job Overview As the Operations Support Assistant at Heart N Soul Community Cafe, you'll be at the heart of our daily operations working closely with the Chef/ Kitchen Manager and Execuitve Director to help feed everyone in our community a nutritious meal, regardless of their ability to pay. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about gaining hands-on experience—learning the ins and outs of growing a nonprofit. Operations & Administrative Responsibilities Demonstrate a full understanding of Heart N Soul Community Cafe's mission and vision. Educate guests and volunteers about our mission and vision Work with a team of volunteers for meal prep and meal service. Follow all of Heart-n-Soul's policies and procedures. Kitchen & Mobile Cafe Responsibilities Assist the Kitchen Manager/Chef with organizing and executing food prep for meals, cooking, meal service and clean-up. Work independently and accept responsibility for opening and closing the kitchen and food trailer. Utilize inventory to minimize food waste and handle ordering of paper products and serving materials. Execute regular cleaning standards, and verify that all staff and volunteers always maintain sanitation standards and safe food handling practices. Assist the Kitchen Manager/Chef in streamlining kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times. Organize and execute food prep for meals, as well as cook and serve meals Set up for Food truck meals independently, including generator and propane Requires a driver license to pull a food trailer. Qualifications Mission driven Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills Possess a driver's license and vehicle Strong organizational skills Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic kitchen skills including knife skills, food safety and comfortable preparing/cooking foods Willingness to drive around Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo area within a 50-mile radius

Up to $18.00 per hour
