Job Title:
Surgical Scheduling Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Scheduling Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for surgical patients, assisting with their needs under the supervision of physicians. This role involves scheduling appointments, educating patients about dermatological conditions, and ensuring accurate documentation of medical records. Responsibilities + Receive calls from surgical patients and assess their needs for advice or care. + Communicate with patients professionally and compassionately to educate them about dermatological conditions. + Schedule patient appointments following standard procedures and templates. + Document patients' medical records, including medications and allergies, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Complete surgical consent forms, lab orders, and other patient forms promptly. + Maintain patient logs, such as biopsy and laboratory test logs. + Assist patients with EHR patient portal registration. + Continually learn and explain new and existing dermatological conditions. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Medical assisting + Patient care + Medical terminology + Surgical scheduling + Experience with EMR systems, including NextGen and EMA Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred. + Experience in dermatology scheduling is a plus. + Familiarity with NextGen, EMA, or Phreesia is advantageous. + Experience in ambulatory surgical scheduling is a plus. + Comfortable with inbound and outbound phone work, including calling patients with results. + Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed. + Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work Environment On site 8am-5pm Mon-Fri Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, NH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
