Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, dedicated and detail-oriented Ob Gyn Surgery Scheduler to join our practice.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of surgical procedures, medical documentation, and patient care coordination. As a Surgery Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing pre-operative preparations, scheduling surgeries, and post op appointments. Responsibilities Coordinate surgical schedules by collaborating with our physicians, the hospital and insurance companies and patients. Review and verify medical documentation, including patient histories, consent forms, and pre-operative assessments for accuracy and completeness. Manage patient intake processes, including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and preparation instructions. Maintain detailed records within our EHR system. Facilitate communication between patients and providers regarding surgical procedures, care plans, and post-operative instructions. Assist in the preparation of surgical documentation for billing purposes using CPT coding and
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards. Ensure all surgical supplies and equipment are prepared and available for procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Provide exceptional patient service by demonstrating professional phone etiquette, managing multi-line phone systems, and addressing patient inquiries efficiently. Experience Prior experience in a private practice or hospital setting with a focus on surgical coordination or medical administrative support is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in an EMR system. Knowledge of medical terminology including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), Medicare regulations, and health information management practices. Strong background in medical billing processes including insurance verification and documentation review. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience working in an Ob Gyn office a plus!
Pay:
$20.60 - $25.00 per hour
