SUMMARY:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for implementing and managing sour gas and H₂S programs to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency in alignment with
MPLX NG & NGL
standards. They support H₂S hazard identification, mitigation, monitoring, and emergency preparedness, and are aligned with their district while maintaining a "dotted line" to the Regional Operations Specialist Coordinator to ensure consistent practices and training across
NG & NGL. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, reviews and revises, trains and manages operating procedures and properly maintains executed operating procedures to ensure compliance and safe maintenance in H₂S environment. Mentors operations employees to contribute to the writing and overall management of procedures. Champion of continuous improvement initiatives such as operator training. Participates in Process Safety Management (PSM) or related activities such as management of change, process hazard analysis, and compliance audits. Supports the district and/or area leadership team by maintaining awareness of day-to-day activities, attending Operations meetings, and filling in for supervision during absences. Assists in the development of district and/or area tactics aligned with business guiding principals and goals by demonstrating ownership and effectively communicating vision and strategies to ensure understanding. Ensures clear and consistent communication of the organizations vision, priorities and expectations at all levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Two (2) years of industry experience required. Two (2) years of relevant operational knowledge and/or direct experience in the area of support required. Experience with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Cause & Effect Matrices preferred.
