In this energetic role, you will coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers. Your proactive approach will help create a positive experience for patients while supporting the clinical team's operational needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-functioning medical environment dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. Schedule patient appointments accurately across multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and others. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. Manage patient intake processes, including collecting and updating medical information and documentation review. Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize appointment flow and reduce wait times, ensuring efficient clinic operations. Maintain detailed medical records, update care plans, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Assist with medical billing and coding processes, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare documentation requirements. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, providing excellent customer service to patients and providers alike. Proven experience with medical scheduling using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and healthcare documentation standards. Familiarity with health information management systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or hospital experience is a plus. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing). Ability to verify insurance benefits efficiently and handle insurance-related inquiries confidently. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse patient populations. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with office management software such as Dental Office Management or similar tools is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures compliance in handling sensitive patient information.
