About the position:
The company is seeking a highly organized Production Scheduler to join its manufacturing team in Le Roy, New York. The Production Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting production schedules to ensure customer orders are completed on time, materials are available, and manufacturing capacity is used effectively. This role requires close coordination with production, supply chain, purchasing, customer service, logistics, quality, and plant leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong planning and analytical skills , and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop, maintain, and update daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and business priorities. Coordinate closely with production teams to ensure schedules are realistic , achievable, and aligned with shop floor conditions. Plan and optimize machine capacity by considering equipment availability, machine loading, production cycle times, tooling requirements, changeovers, maintenance schedules, and potential bottlenecks. Monitor production progress against the schedule and proactively identify delays, bottlenecks, material shortages, or capacity constraints. Communicate schedule changes, risks, and priorities to relevant stakeholders , including production, purchasing, logistics, customer service, and management. Work with purchasing and inventory teams to confirm availability of raw materials, components, and supplies required for planned production. Support capacity planning by considering labor availability, machine capacity, lead times, production constraints, and priority orders. Adjust production schedules as needed in response to changes in demand, customer requirements, material availability, equipment downtime, or other operational issues. Help ensure on-time delivery performance by aligning production schedules with customer commitments and shipment priorities. Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/MRP systems and other production planning tools. Prepare and distribute production schedule updates , reports, and performance information as needed. Participate in daily or weekly production , planning, and operations meetings. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, scheduling accuracy, inventory control, lead time reduction, and overall operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve communication, planning discipline, and schedule adherence across the plant.
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience in production scheduling , production planning, materials planning, supply chain, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, lead times, material availability, and capacity constraints. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with data, reports, production priorities, and changing deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize tasks and make practical decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment. High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in industrial manufacturing, technical manufacturing, ceramics, electrical components, heavy manufacturing, or a related production environment. Experience with MS Business Central or comparable ERP system. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, inventory control, capacity planning, or continuous improvement principles. Experience supporting make-to-order or engineer-to-order production environments.
Compensation:
The expected annual base salary range for this position is
USD 58,000 - 85,000
gross per year , depending on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
