Position Overview CARIAN is seeking a Project Controls Scheduler
- Primavera P6 to support major electric utility transmission and distribution programs.
This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on detailed project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6. The ideal candidate has strong project controls and scheduling experience, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, construction teams, contractors, and client stakeholders. This role requires strong attention to detail, schedule discipline, and the ability to support multiple active projects in a fast-paced utility program environment. This role may be based in Akron, OH; Reading, PA; or Morristown, NJ, with occasional client site visits as needed. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6. Support electric utility transmission, distribution, substation, and related infrastructure projects. Manage project schedules across various phases, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout. Support multiple project managers concurrently across active utility projects. Load, maintain, and validate schedule data, including activities, logic, milestones, durations, resources, and progress updates. Perform schedule quality checks to confirm accuracy, logic integrity, and alignment with project requirements. Analyze schedule performance, identify variances, and support development of corrective actions or recovery plans. Track project progress and coordinate schedule updates with project managers, engineers, construction teams, contractors, and client stakeholders. Support project controls reporting, including schedule status, milestone tracking, variance analysis, lookahead reports, and management dashboards. Integrate and analyze scheduling data using Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools. Support cost and schedule alignment by coordinating with project controls, finance, and project management teams. Identify potential schedule risks and support mitigation planning. Maintain organized project schedule files, logs, reports, and supporting documentation. Participate in project meetings and provide scheduling updates, analysis, and recommendations as needed. Support project closeout activities, including final schedule updates and documentation turnover. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field required. 4+ years of experience in project controls, scheduling, construction management, or capital project delivery. Hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6 required. Experience supporting electric utility, transmission, distribution, substation, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects preferred. Strong understanding of schedule development, activity sequencing, logic ties, critical path analysis, progress updates, and variance reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting. Ability to analyze schedule data and communicate findings clearly to project teams and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to support multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, construction teams, contractors, project controls staff, and client representatives. Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, or project controls reporting is a plus. Utility client or consulting experience is a plus. Valid driver's license required.
