  • Part-time Our office team is growing at The Goddard School in Independence, Ohio, and we are looking for a positive, dependable, and flexible person to join us as an Office & Classroom Helper / Assistant Director!
This is a great role for someone who has childcare experience, enjoys being part of a team, and is comfortable helping wherever needed. Some days may be spent greeting families, answering phones, helping in the office, and supporting the school director. Other days may include stepping into classrooms, helping maintain ratios, supporting teachers, and making sure the day runs smoothly. We are looking for someone who is warm, professional, organized, and confident working with children, families, and staff. This position is Monday through Friday and part-time. The start time may be between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., but must be the same consistent start time each day. The person in this role must be available to stay until the last child leaves, which may be after 6:00 p.m., and will be responsible for helping close down the building each day.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the school director with daily school operations Helping in classrooms as needed Being comfortable working with all age groups, from infants through Pre-K Greeting and communicating with parents in a friendly and professional way Answering phones and assisting with general office tasks Helping manage classroom ratios throughout the afternoon Supporting teachers and children during transitions, breaks, and busy parts of the day Assisting with closing procedures and making sure the building is properly closed at the end of the day Being flexible, dependable, and willing to jump in where needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center Must be comfortable helping in classrooms Must be comfortable with all age groups Must be available Monday through Friday Must be able to stay until the last child leaves, which may be after 6:00 p.m. Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented Must enjoy working with children, families, and staff This may be the perfect role for you if you: Love working with children but also enjoy office and family communication Are flexible and willing to help wherever needed Like being part of a busy, fun, supportive school environment Are calm, friendly, and professional when talking with parents Enjoy helping teachers and being part of a team Are looking for a role where every day is a little different If you have experience in a licensed childcare center and are looking for a positive school environment where you can support children, families, teachers, and leadership, we would love to meet you!
