Scheduler - Heart Center

Job Summary Responsible for accurately scheduling various cardiac services, ensuring timely and appropriate appointments for patients. This role involves verifying medical insurance benefits and communicating with private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid to confirm coverage details and provider compatibility. The successful candidate will possess a foundational understanding of registration functions, the revenue cycle, and accounts receivable, and will maintain current knowledge of payer and regulatory guidelines relevant to cardiac service scheduling and reimbursement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Graduate or Equivalent Medical Terminology Business/Healthcare Related Associate Degree Preferred 2 years previous experience in Registration/Patient Accounts or Physician billing office required or combination of experience/education. Previous office experience, prefer background knowledge of health insurance, Medicare/Medicaid plans. Typing, computer skills, attention to detail and excellent customer service skills required.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinating multiple cardiac testing appointments with offices and the patient Building and modifying templates in the Meditech (EHR) scheduling module Verifying insurance benefits Working with case management and the cardiac department to schedule expedited outpatient testing Coordinates the Cardiac cath lab schedule with the cath lab manager and inputs patient information in Meditech.
