Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for the proper scheduling of impending procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Does not oversee other staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Schedules all surgical, gastroenterological (GI), and pain-management procedures Has knowledge and understanding of the surgery schedule and the format utilized by the center Coordinates specific scheduling requests for time and equipment Notifies Nurse Manager of special messages from physician's office Works effectively with physician offices to manage the surgery schedule Provides accurate, timely and responsive information to Physicians and other stake holders Coordinates processes as required to meet physician and facility requirements Acts as a primary liaison for physician offices regarding patient information Manages physician blocks; releasing and filling blocks when necessary to increase patient census Coordinate with Materials Management and Sterile Processing to ensure required supplies and equipment are available for cases Confirm schedule of patients with physician offices Provide appropriate facility staff with information, schedule changes or cancelations Coordinate patient information with business office personnel including Medical Records and Insurance verification Requests patient records as required by the Physician Adheres to safety policies and practices good body mechanics and ergonomics Follows all rules and regulations for PHI and HIPAA protections of patient information Follows all policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, attendance, timeliness, and safeguarding confidential information Reports incidents in a timely manner Promotes patient and employee safety and communicates concerns appropriately, following Chain of Command Attends in-service programs as requested Performs other related duties as directed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within Bend Surgery Center and external customers, clients and potential employees Strong team working and collaborative skills High attention to detail Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft office products Must have knowledge of and ability to perform basic office skills Must have exemplary customer service skills Must be organized, flexible and versatile with the ability to function effectively in stressful situations
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required At least two (2) years experience in some aspect of the medical field to assure familiarity with medical terminology. Previous experience with scheduling surgical procedures is preferred.

Hiring salary cap is limited to mid-point of $29.25 per hour.
