Medical Scheduler

Primary Responsibilities:

Check out patients following provider visits Schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic testing Answer and manage high-volume, multi-line telephone system Process referrals and obtain necessary authorizations Send imaging and testing orders to hospitals and imaging facilities Coordinate appointments for pulmonary testing, sleep studies, CT scans, and other procedures Review provider schedules and assist with appointment management Communicate with patients regarding appointments, testing, and referrals Verify insurance information and update patient demographics as needed Process appointment cancellations and reschedules Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Manage incoming faxes and scheduling-related communications Work closely with providers, clinical staff, hospitals, and referring offices

Qualifications:

Previous medical office or scheduling experience preferred Excellent customer service and telephone skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Experience with EMR systems preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and referrals is a plus Reliable attendance and professionalism required

Pay:

$22.00 - $23.00 per hour
