Job Description

The Master Planner is responsible to develop, execute, and continuously improves the production planning process and resulting production schedule to maximize operational efficiency while not compromising on time delivery of finished product. Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions of the Job) : Qualified individuals must have the ability to perform the following duties, with or without reasonable accommodation: Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer forecasts, sales orders, capacity, and lead times. Utilize sales plans/forecasts to develop production plans and schedules. Analyze sales data and forecasts to provide input into both short-term execution and long-term capacity planning. Monitor on time performance to the production have ready dates and make adjustments to meet customer demand and expected ship dates including recommending overtime when needed. Manage schedule changes to accommodate expedites when required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Shipping, Production, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality) to resolve delivery risks and production issues. Maintain and update key planning parameters within the ERP/MRP system (e.g., machine efficiency, lead times, etc.). Prepares master production schedule for manufacturing which considers quality, efficiencies and on-time delivery. Generates and distributes potential late order reports to customer service, production supervisors and lead associates, and shipping. Consults with customer service and production supervisors on dates of potential problems and establish priorities for completion of late orders. Evaluates weekly workload and meets with the Planning/Scheduling Manager and Production Manager to identify areas where overtime is needed. Works with engineering department to set times for sample runs, offers advice on where to run product. Works with maintenance to schedule preventative maintenance along with equipment repairs/upgrades to minimize downtime. Works with Inventory Manager to establish planning policies and safety stock levels based on provided forecast. Works with Quality Manager with re-planning of both internal and external rejected material. Monitors RAW and WIP inventory levels. Communicates with Purchasing on material shortages.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, operations mgmt. or related technical/engineering discipline preferred. APICS certification preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment w/ERP system experience required. Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and listening skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, proficient typing skills, and internet navigation. Proficiency in standard organizational, administrative and documentation procedures, with a proven ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively. Proficiency with ERP systems.
