Transportation Scheduler & Dispatcher Pike County Transportation Milford, PA | Full-Time | GED / High School Diploma Required About This Position Pike County Transportation is hiring a full-time Transportation Scheduler & Dispatcher to help keep our county moving. In this role, you will coordinate daily trip scheduling and real-time dispatching of transportation services for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the general public across Pike County. If you are organized, a strong communicator, and thrive in a busy environment, we want to hear from you. What You Will Do Schedule and dispatch passenger trips efficiently using transportation scheduling software. Monitor driver routes in real time and adjust for delays, cancellations, or emergencies. Communicate daily with drivers via phone or digital messaging to coordinate assignments. Process incoming trip requests by phone, fax, or electronic systems accurately and promptly. Enter and maintain passenger trip data in the transportation management system. Coordinate with medical facilities, social service agencies, and partner organizations. Handle passenger questions and concerns in a courteous and professional manner. Prepare daily and weekly operational reports (trips, mileage, cancellations, no-shows). Maintain records in compliance with county, state, and federal transportation regulations. Assist with on-call or after-hours dispatch duties as needed. What We Are Looking For High School Diploma or GED required. At least 1 year of experience in transportation, scheduling, dispatching, or logistics preferred. Basic computer skills; comfortable using scheduling software and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication skills; ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once. Dependable and flexible with scheduling, including early mornings or weekends as needed. Must pass a background check. Preferred But Not Required Experience with Ecolane scheduling and dispatch software is a strong plus. Background in paratransit or demand-response transportation.
