Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist - Pipeline Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of refined products across Energy Transfer pipeline systems. This role manages day-to-day scheduling activities, monitors pipeline capacity and operational constraints, and works closely with shippers, terminal operators, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable product movement. The Senior Specialist serves as a key operational contact for customers and internal stakeholders, provides analytical insights to improve system performance, and supports operational decision-making during planned and unplanned events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute the scheduling of refined products on Energy Transfer pipeline systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable product transportation.
  • Monitor pipeline capacity, flow rates, batch sequencing, and inventory positions to optimize throughput and maintain system balance.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for shippers, suppliers, and terminal operators to coordinate nominations, batch movements, and delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with pipeline controllers, operations personnel, engineering teams, and commercial groups to address operational constraints and ensure alignment between scheduling plans and system capabilities.
  • Analyze operational data, system conditions, and shipper requirements to proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts or capacity limitations and implement solutions.
  • Prepare and distribute operational updates, scheduling reports, and system status communications to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Support responses to operational events such as line shutdowns, maintenance activities, or product quality issues by coordinating adjustments to pipeline schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tariffs, regulatory requirements, and company operating procedures related to pipeline scheduling and product movement.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance scheduling efficiency, data accuracy, and system utilization.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior schedulers or new team members, sharing knowledge of pipeline operations and scheduling processes.
Requirements:
Education and/or
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in pipeline scheduling, logistics, refined products operations, or a related energy industry role.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations, batch scheduling, product movement, and terminal logistics.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and system conditions to support scheduling decisions and operational planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and respond effectively to changing conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience scheduling refined products pipelines or working in midstream logistics.
  • Familiarity with pipeline scheduling systems such as Transport 4 (T4) or similar scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of pipeline tariffs, regulatory requirements, and product specifications relevant to refined products transportation.
  • Experience working with terminal operations, product inventory management, or pipeline control centers.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
