Import & Export Operations Specialist Location:
Hybrid schedule

$33/hr
Schedule:
9AM - 5PM ; M-F Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Import & Export Operations Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for international customers and vendors. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of global shipments and ensure seamless coordination across internal teams and external partners. This position requires strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to independently manage complex logistics operations while delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams Manage the end-to-end shipment process , including booking, documentation, tracking, and delivery Ensure compliance with customs regulations and government requirements (FDA, USDA, Customs, etc.) Coordinate air, ocean, and ground transportation , as well as warehousing and distribution Maintain and validate HTS codes, Schedule B codes, FDA codes, and country of origin details Work closely with customs brokers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure timely clearance and delivery Resolve freight payment discrepancies and provide root cause analysis Support order management, forecasting, and supply planning within SAP or related systems Communicate shipment status, delays, and order updates to internal stakeholders and customers Develop and maintain SOPs and vendor profiles , including contacts, requirements, and routing details Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support business decisions and compliance Qualifications 2+ years of experience in import/export, logistics, supply chain, or related field Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Transportation (preferred) Strong understanding of import/export regulations and Incoterms (preferred) Experience with order management systems and SAP (highly preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment High level of attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Why Join Us?
