$25/hr W-2 (90-day probation period at a lower rate, with increase upon successful completion) About the Role We are a busy family looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Family & Household Operations Assistant to support our household three days per week. This is not a casual cleaning or babysitting job . This role requires consistency, strong common sense, and pride in doing things thoroughly and correctly . The right person will help keep our home running smoothly so we can focus on work, family, and life. If you are dependable, proactive, calm under pressure, and take satisfaction in a well-run environment, this could be a long-term, stable role. Schedule & Reliability (Non-Negotiable) Wednesday-Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Occasional optional evening hours for work dinners or date nights Punctuality is critical — our schedules depend on it No flexibility on scheduled days or hours Two weeks' notice required for any time off Please do not apply if you need frequent schedule changes or last-minute flexibility. ResponsibilitiesHousehold Cleaning & Maintenance (High Standards) Maintain a consistently clean, safe, and functional home Follow detailed cleaning checklists (provided) Weekly deep-clean rotations Attention to details such as: Baseboards, corners, fingerprints Under furniture Bathrooms maintained to hotel-level cleanliness Leave the home safe and ready for children and pets (no chemicals left out, gates secured, furniture placed intentionally) Organizing & Systems Maintain and reset organization systems (pantry, garage, kids' toys) Assist with larger organizing projects under direction Ask before discarding, donating, or reorganizing Execute plans independently once aligned Childcare Support Care for a 3-year-old and an infant Active engagement: play, feeding, cleanup, outings (park, etc.) Support parent being able to shower, work from home, attend appointments, go to the gym, or meetings Occasionally be alone with children CPR/First Aid training required Prior babysitting, nannying, or parenting experience required Background check required Dogs & Errands Two dogs: One senior, low-energy, blind dog One American Bully Dog walks: 1-2 miles ~2 times per week Rain gear provided (must be washed weekly) Run household errands as needed: Grocery shopping Returns Post office Dry cleaning Must have a reliable personal vehicle A household vehicle may be provided for errands Who This Role Is For The perfect person for this role is someone who is: Extremely reliable and trustworthy Organized, focused, and detail-oriented Calm, patient, and compassionate Uses common sense and thinks ahead Comfortable with both routine tasks and occasional changes Proactive and notices problems before they become issues Checklist-driven and intuitive This role is NOT a fit for someone who: Gets overwhelmed or stressed easily Struggles with repetitive tasks Leaves tasks unfinished without communicating Needs constant direction or supervision Is frequently late or unreliable Communication & Accountability Mistakes, missed tasks, or questions should be communicated via text We value transparency and early communication Clear expectations and performance reviews will be provided Phone use limited to emergencies only No personal calls or social media during work hours Compensation & Growth $25/hr W-2 after successful probation period 90-day probation period at a lower rate Paid sick time per Oregon law Gas covered when using a household vehicle Opportunity for paid travel with the family for work events (childcare support) Long-term potential for raises tied to performance and reliability
