Operations Continuous Improvement Specialist I Position Summary:
The Operations Continuous Improvement Specialist I, is a position within the Operations Work Management and Performance Team and identifies compelling ideas within the organization that can be used to improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, find cost savings and drive operational value within DLC. This position collaborates with other positions across Operations and the company to achieve objectives.

Woods Run, Pittsburgh, PA Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify Continuous Improvement initiatives, build proposals with strong data validations and develop action plans for implementing tested solutions. Ensure Operations has sufficient opportunities identified and on track to meet assigned continuous improvement targets including targets for capital and expense savings. Drive operational alignment and execution to support and deliver continuous improvement objectives. Facilitate and participate in ideation sessions across Operations to identify continuous improvement oppournities. Track and monitor continuous improvement efforts through the lifecycle of the initiatives including actual outcomes compared to estimated outcomes. Ensure that Operations leaders and team members have the information and knowledge they need to effectively identify, implement, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives. Lead a solution-oriented approach and collaborate with team members and leaders to critically think and problem solve to address business challenges. Identify approach and create content that can deliver compelling messaging and positioning while effectively communicating the value proposition to the target audience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate performance data and strategic insights into visual concepts. Perform analyses and reporting for Operations expense and capital budget management.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Storm team duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, data analytics, engineering, or related discipline 7+ years of related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working at a utility or providing consulting services to a utility. Experienced in effectively leading improvement initiatives, utilizing DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma and BPM methodologies.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality. Forward thinker with a creative mindset Results-driven Strong business and financial acumen Excellent collaboration skills. Excellent organizational and management skills. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Scope Primary Focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Accountable for managing one's own time and workflow and leads projects and/or large project steps. Work is complex in nature requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Acts independently the majority of the time, requiring guidance in only complex situations. Has well established capabilities, acts as a resource to less experienced staff on moderately complex issues. Decision Impact Problems and issues faced are vague and require analysis of multiple sources of information for solutions. Draws on significant past experience to perform role. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making. Hybrid Work Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs. Storm Roles All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc. Data Governance Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities, and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
