The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, managing, and coordinating all aspects of patient surgical procedures for the practice at affiliated hospitals and surgical centers for multiple Orthopedic Surgeons. This role ensures patients are fully optimized and prepared for surgery while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative oversight.
Travel Requirement:
Livingston, NJ and Millburn, NJ Hybrid:
This position requires on-site training, 5 days per week, for a minimum of 8 weeks, followed by a progressive hybrid work schedule. Weeks 9-12: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. A full hybrid schedule will be granted after the completion of the 90-day probationary period, resulting in 3 days onsite and 2 days working remotely. Progression of the hybrid model is based on competency and Manager approval.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent At least 2 years' experience in a Surgical Coordinating role in busy multiple physician practice Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Word processing and computer experience
Preferred:
Bilingual in English/Spanish EPIC knowledge

Monday-Friday Day Shift, 8:00AM-4:30PM Full-Time, 40
Hours Per Week Essential Functions:
Obtaining correct surgical booking information, utilizing EMR, navigating through patient charts, placing PAT orders, following PAT completion, authorizations, acquiring patient PCP and specialty clearances, and scheduling pre-post operative appointments within the practice The Surgical Coordinator serves as a central liaison between patients, practice providers, hospitals, surgical centers, and patient' clearance providers throughout the process of surgical optimization Constant communication with patients and all necessary departments to confirm that all clinical, administrative, and insurance requirements are completed prior to the procedure date. Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR while reviewing patient charts to confirm labs, imaging, pre-operative documents are uploaded and completed. Monitor surgical schedules for changes, cancellations, and rescheduling while maintaining operational efficiency and block utilization for assigned providers.
