Job Description
Job Overview The Principal Scheduler leads the scheduling function to create and maintain an accurate, feasible Master Production Schedule (MPS) that balances customer demand, material availability, and production capacity across all R&E operations. This role serves as the central coordination point between demand, production, and supply chain functions, ensuring customer delivery requirements are achieved while maintaining operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain accurate inventory of components, raw material, WIP, finished goods, packaging, and racks.
Oversee timely ordering of components and commodities to support production requirements.
Manage WIP inventories for PSC Production Planning through Assembly, ECOAT, Hem Seal, and Packaging.
Drive customer shipments of finished goods through PSC Assembly, ECOAT, Hem Seal, and Packaging.
Provide Master Production Schedule to R&E Intersites & downstream process partners to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
Provide long-term production forecast and capacities to support material procurement and anticipated production requirements.
Support R&E Intersite production alignment, including transfer orders, production cell changes, and supply timing where balancing capacity is required.
Collaborate with Purchasing to confirm supplier capacity and material coverage.
Work with Engineering and Quality to incorporate trial builds, PPAP, bank builds, engineering changes, and rework campaigns into the schedule.
Provide schedule data to Finance for absorption, labor efficiency, and cost reporting.
Maintain flexibility to support new program launches while sustaining existing customer deliveries.
Provide training, coaching, and process oversight to ensure scheduling team competency and compliance with R&E processes.
Report any shipping delays, including premium freight incidents, to the MP&L Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma & 5-years work experience equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Logistics in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
Hands-on experience with Sage (preferred) or other ERP/MRP systems is essential.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
