Surgery Scheduler

Actalent Healthcare Services is looking for a medical receptionist/surgery scheduler for a specialty clinic located in Denton, TX! Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate surgeries efficiently. Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate. Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physicians prior to treatment or procedures. Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed. Assist physicians with exams and procedures by standing and taking notes while the doctor performs duties. Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols. Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physicians, nurses, or pharmacists. Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN. Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows. Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception as requested by supervisor or physician. Essential Skills Certified Medical Assistant Experience with the Athena system 2-3 years of experience as a scheduler or certified medical assistant
