Job Summary While meeting weekly goals, the Production Scheduler drives stability within the supply chain by generating the build schedule and master production schedule to meet customer delivery schedules, order delivery plans, and company financial targets. They generate analysis that addresses forecast gaps and supports collaboration amongst all key stakeholders in order to meet customer expectations and business goals based on root cause and key metrics. They will represent and report a master production schedule and build plan in meetings. We are also looking for someone who is an outside-the-box thinker and constantly looking to innovate and continuously improve. Duties and Essential Job Functions
- Create and coordinates production schedules along with ensuring materials, and planning are available for production.
- Scheduling all program needs on one integrated schedule.
- Understanding of product, product movement, load level at a resource level.
- Advises management of production status and escalate problems to ensure labor, tools, equipment, and services are provided as needed.
- Coordinates with other internal departments to ensure the movement of parts are timely.
- Works with support functions to ensure supporting documents are available before production.
- Coordination of product movement across the value stream.
- Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
- Confirms material supply and demands, and prepares work orders for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, etc.
- Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
Skills and Qualifications:
- College degree in supply chain or similar is preferred, but not required.
- Veterans encouraged to apply.
- 3- 5+ years of experience with scheduling, production planning in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and JobBOSS, or other ERP/MRP systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and the industry
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- High level of motivation and sense of urgency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and in a manner that supports the business Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable professional with strong operational awareness and communication skills.
Able to balance urgency with accuracy while supporting production flow, maintaining system integrity, and contributing to a collaborative, solutions-focused environment.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires repetitive use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, grasping, hearing, and talking. Requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Though we operate in mostly heated/cooled facilities, it is a manufacturing, production line environment where employees will be working around sometimes less than ideal conditions, such as loud noise, fumes, hazardous machinery, etc. This job description is not intended to imply that the duties identified above are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) in this position.
